For their work, students created tours and exhibits around the historic areas of campus, focusing on the history of Sweet Briar Plantation and the lives of the enslaved individuals who are part of our past. Using resources available such as the old slave quarters, the slave graveyard and the reclaimed household objects from our museum, children learned about the spiritual practices and beliefs of these individuals.

Taking over Amazement Square for the day, students created, staffed, and interacted with children on a number of exhibits that brought ancient Egypt to life. Creating their own sarcophagi hearing Egyptian fables/parables, practicing their Archaeology skills and reading hieroglypics were all part of the fun.
