Habitat for Humanity

PACE homepage

One of the most recognizable non-profit organizations, Habitat for Humanity sponsors builds throughout the world. Habitat's goal is working towards eliminating poverty housing and, to date, has built houses providing shelter to more than 500,000 people.

Habitat for Humanity is based on the principle that the opportunity and tools to be a successful homeowner and community member are earned. Families who qualify for Habitat for Humanity home ownership must put in 300 hours of sweat equity to build for others before they can qualify for a house of their own.

Habitat has been one of the most amazing success stories in our history, and has served to bring together people from all over the country who wish in some way to give back to others. There are always opportunities to provide assistance and interested individual should also check their local Habitat Chapters for more information on builds in their area.
